Evans Mills, NY…Another warm and sunny summer day greeted fans and drivers for a night of action filled racing.  Highlighting the evening were thunder cars, juniors, ladies trucks, sport compact, legends, open, trucks, super stocks and thunder stocks.

During our intermission, fans drew six drivers from our thunder stock class to run in a dash for cash.  The dash for cash was sponsored by Scott Wheeler’s Professional Landscaping and Lawn Care.  The lucky drivers that were drawn were Scott McCarthy, Justin Pope, Dustin Payne, Christopher Weber, Kenneth Kampnich, Ed Morris.  At the end of the six lap event the winner of the dash for cash was deemed to be Justin Pope.

The first feature of the night was the thunder car division with Dan Way and Amanda DeFoe bringing the field to the green flag.  Dan Way took the lead for the first half of the eight lap feature.  On lap seven Billy Matteson was able to take the lead away from Way and held on for the last two laps to take the checkered flag.  Matteson was followed by Dan Way, John Sargent, Tim Worden, and Amanda DeFoe.

The junior division was next in the feature line up.  Brooklyn Wilson and Dalton Lampson brought the field to the green flag.  Dalton Lampson was dominant in the junior division, leading from the drop of the green until the checkered flag flew.  He was followed by Connor Walsh, Brooklyn Wilson, Gabriel Morris, and Aliyah Dufrene.

Ladies trucks were back for their monthly appearance.  Brittany Schroy and Mackenzie Hilts brought the field to the green for their eight lap feature event.  After an accident on the first lap involving Mackenzie Hilts, Jean Nichols, and Jenn Burnash, we were able to get the feature under way.  Brittany Schroy dominated from start to finish, followed by Mackenzie Hilts, Jean Nichols, and Jenn Burnash.

John Sargent and Kathy DeFoe led the sport compact division to the green flag.  DeFoe came together with a couple of cars blowing a front tire and bringing out the yellow before the completion of lap one.  Once the green flag flew again it was Scott Shafer and Homer Dobransky fighting for the lead in the twelve lap feature.  Shafer was able to obtain the lead and hold that position until the checkered flag flew.  He was followed by Homer Dobransky, Devin Dobransky, Billy Matteson, and Zac Petrie.

Legends were next on the docket with Dalton Rombough and Nate Plantz leading the pac to the green flag for their 15 lap feature.  Rombough was able to lead for the first three laps before Nate Plantz took the lead.  Plantz was running a strong race until spinning coming out of  turn four bringing out the caution.  Once the green flag was thrown again Chad Windsor was the leader.  Windsor was able to hold the lead until lap ten when Chris Zieren took over.  Caution came out again on lap 13 with Nate Plantz car sitting on top of the front end of Verne LaFave car.  Once the green was thrown again, Zieren was able to hold on until the checkered flag  making it two wins in a row.  Zieren was followed by Chad Windsor, Dave Riopelle, Dalton Rombough, and Taylor Doxtater.

Open class was next in the line-up of events,  Verne Harris and Jeff Rowes brought the three car field to the green for their 10 lap feature.  Mark Webb was the leader on lap one and held the position until the checkered flag was thrown.  He was followed by Verne Harris.

Brian Hilts and Jenn Burnash led the truck division to the green for their 15 lap feature.  Caution was thrown on lap one for an incident involving Robert Schroy, Jenn Burnash, and Travis Edwards.  Unfortunately for Edwards this would end his night of racing due to the damage to his truck.  Once the green flag was in the air again, Brian Hilts led the trucks for the first four laps before Matt Larrivee was able to take the lead.  Larrivee only held the lead for one lap before Trevor Halladay was able to take over.  Caution came out on lap 14 when Jenn Burnash and Gary Wendell came together between turn three and four.  This brought the field to a green/white,checkered finish.  On the final lap, Trevor Halladay, Jeremy Scott and Matt Larrivee came together and Jenn Burnash having no where to go was involved in the accident also.  There was extensive damage to the Burnash truck.  It was a checkered/yellow finish with new comer Zac Strough being crowned the winner followed by Robert Schroy, Brian Burnash,  Gary Wendell, and Jean Nichols.   The winner of the bonus award courtesy of VanTassel Snow and Ice was thirteenth place finisher, Travis Edwards.

The Super Stock feature was the next order of business.   Keith Doxtater and Rick Ziegler led the field to the green flag for the start of their 20 lap feature.  Before the first lap was completed the yellow flag flew for Rick Marshall who had a front tire go down.  When the green flag flew again it was Doxtater leading followed by Chris Typhair, Rick Ziegler, and Ray Bancroft.  At the half way mark, Doxtater held a dominant lead over the rest of the field.  With two laps left to go, Doxtater was still leading over Chris Typhair, Rick Ziegler, Ray Bancroft, and Josh Verne.  Doxtater was able to hold on for the checkered flag and make it two in a row.  Chris Typhair was second followed by Rick Ziegler, Josh Verne, and Ray Bancroft.

Our biggest class for the night was next on the docket.  Jeff Jones and Dan Papin led the thunder stocks to the green for the start of their 15 lap feature.  Jones was able to lead for the first two laps before Scott McCarthy took the lead.  Caution came out on lap six for Kenneth Kampnich and Frank Nortz.  Once we were back to green McCarthy continued to be the leader.  Scott McCarthy was able to maintain the lead until caution came out on lap 10.  Cars were stopped on the front stretch to allow for track clean up and McCarthy was over come with mechanical difficulties and was done for the remainder of the night.  Dan Swem retained the lead when the green flag flew and was able to maintain that lead for the checkered flag.  He was followed by Matt Brown, Justine Pope, John Williams, and Jim Hamilton.  Hamilton who started in twentieth position in the feature had a strong race for being a new comer to the racing circuit.
