CHASSIS

 

FRAME-MUST USE STOCK FRAME IN GOOD CONDITION ONLY. FRAME MUST STRAIGHT , SOUND , AND COMPLETE. NO CUTTING , CHOPPING , SHORTENING , OR LOWERING OF FRAME IS ALLOWED. MUST REMAIN OEM WHEEL BASE FOR MODEL TRUCK USED. MUST HAVE A MINIMUM FRAME HEIGHT OF 5” (INCHES).

 

 

ROLLCAGE- A STOUT , 6(SIX) POINT ROLLCAGE IS MANDITORY. MUST BE A MINIMUM OR 1.5” OD X .090 THICKNESS MILD STEEL TUBING. MUST BE ANCHORED TO 4” X 4” STEEL PLATES AND EITHER BOLTED TO FLOORING OR WELDED TO FRAME. MUST HAVE 2(TWO) REAR DOWN BARS CONNECTED TO TOP OF REAR HOOP TO REAR FRAME.  BARS MAY PASS THROUGH FIREWALL. DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS MUST HAVE A MINIMUM 3(THREE) HORIZONTAL BARS WITH UPRIGHTS. DRIVER SIDE DOOR MUST HAVE A MINIMUM 1/16” STEEL PLATE WELDED TO THE CROSS BARS. ALL BARS , INCLUDING STEERING WHEEL AND SHAFT IN DRIVERS SECTION/REACH MUST BE PADDED.

 

GROUND CLEARANCE-  FRAME RAILS MUST HAVE A MINIMUM CLEARANCE OF 5” (FIVE INCHES) . A-ARMS , LEAF SPRINGS , AND REAR AXLE DO NOT HAVE TO MEET THIS REQUIREMENT . FORNT VALIANCE MUST HAVE A MINIMUM 2(TWO)” GROUND CLEARANCE . THESE WILL BE MEASURED AT THE LOWEST POINT

THIS WILL BE TAKEN WITH A FULLY SUITED DRIVER IN NORMAL SITTING POSITION

THERE IS ZERO TOLERANCE

 

 

 

ENGINE LOCATION- ALL TRUCKS MUST MAINTAIN ENGINE LOCATION AS MANUFACTURED NO MOVING MOUNTS OR LOWERING OR MOVING BACK OF ENGINE

 

LEFT SIDE WEIGHT- 58% MAXIMUM LEFT SIDE WEIGHT

 

BODY - ALL BODY FENDERS , DOOR SKINS , QUARTER PANELS , ETC MUST BE OEM OR 20 GAUGE STEEL

 

CAB STRUCTURE MUST REMAIN STOCK

MAXIMUM TOTAL WIDTH IS NO MORE THAN 6’2” NO EXCEPTIONS

 

ENGINES- ENGINE MUST BE IDENTICAL TO THE  MAKE  OF THE TRUCK.  ALL ENGINE PARTS MUST BE UNMODIFIED AND IDENTICAL TO STANDARD PARTS FOR THE  MAKE   OF SAID TRUCK .

 

ENGINE COMPONENTS-

A.- PISTONS MUST BE OF OEM STOCK HEIGHT , OEM STOCK MATERIAL , WITH AN IDENTICAL OEM STOCK COMBUSTION SURFACE , BUT MAY OVERBORE UP TO .060” IN DIAMETER ONLY. ANY REPLACEMENT PISTON MUST BE EQUAL OR GREATER IN WEIGHT THAN THE OEM STOCK PISTON NO EXCEPTIONS. MUST BE STOCK , OEM ENGINE COMPRESSION FOR YEAR AND MODEL OF TRUCK .

 

B.- ENGINE DECK HEIGHT MUST REMAIN OEM STOCK

 

C.- CYLINDER HEAD MUST REMAIN STOCK THAT MEANS NO LARGER VALVES ,  OR PORTING. THE CYLINDER HEAD MAY BE RESURFACED. THE USE OF AN OLDER MODEL CYLINDER HEAD FROM SAME CUBIC INCH ENGINE MAY BE USE TO CONVERT TO CARBURATION.

 

D.- FUEL/AIR- MAY RUN A CARBURETOR NO LARGER THATN A HOLLEY 350 CFM .  MAY USE A SPACER FOR CARB. NO THICKER THAN 1”. MAY USE ADAPTER TO MOUNT CARB OR MILD MODIFICATION TO CARB MOUNTING POSITON ONLY NO PORTING INTAKE MANIFOLD.  FORD RANGERS MUST USE ONLY THE GREY OEM COLOR INJECTOR WITH A 14Lb/Hr RATING NO EXCEPTIONS , ON FUEL INJECTED MODELS.

 

E.- FUEL INJECTED MODELS - OEM FUEL INJECTION MUST BE USED , OEM SIZE INJECTORS , OEM SIZE THROTTLE BODIES  MUST BE USED. ECU MUST BE STOCK STYLE, BUT COMPUTER CHIP IS ALLOWED. MAY USE ADJUSTABLE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATER AND MAY ALTER SENSOR READINGS BY WAY OF RESISTORS. MASS AIR FLOW SENSORS IF EQUIPED MUST REMAN OEM SIZE.

 

F.-  MUST USE STOCK IGNITON FOR MODEL OF TRUCK MAY USE AFTERMARKET PLUGS AND WIRES. AFTERMARKET IGNITION COILS ARE ALLOWED ON CARBERATED MODELS.

 

FUEL TANK-  MUST RUN AN APPROVED FUEL CELL ENCASED IN A 20 GUAGE STEEL BOX.

8 GALLON MAXIMUM FUEL CELL IS MANDATORY NO EXCEPTIONS. MUST BE LOCATED IN CENTER OF CHASSIS LOCATED BEHIND REAR END AND A MINIMUM OF 8” GROUND CLEARENCE.

 

EXHAUST- AFTERMARKET TUBULAR HEADERS ARE PERMITTED. TRUCK MAY HAVE ANY STYLE EXHAUST BUT MUST EXIT BEHIND THE DRIVERAND HAVE SOME TYPE OF MUFFLER .

 

 

 

 

 

 

COOLING SYSTEM- ELECTRIC FANS MAY BE USED. MUST ANY TYPE RADIATOR MOUNTED IN STOCK LOCATION. MUST HAVE A MINIMUM 1 QUART OVERFLOW TANK SECURLY FASTENED UNDERHOOD. OVERFLOW MUST BLOW-OFF ON THE PASSENGER FRONT LOWER QUARTER OF WINDSHEILD. ABSOLUTELY NO ANTI-FREEZE IS PERMITTED. ATER ONLEY MAY USE “WATER WETTER’ ADDITIVE OR EQUIVALENT.

 

BATTERY- BATTERIES MUST BE MOUNTED IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT OR IN TRUCK BOX. NO BATTERIES IN CAB AREA. MUST BE IN SOME TYPE OF BOX SECURELY FASTENED DOWN. ALL TRUCKS  MUST HAVE A MAIN POWER DISCONNECT AND FUSL SHUT-OFF LOCATED IN REACH OF THE DRIVER AND VISIBLY MARKED.

 

RUNNING GEAR- MUST USE OEM TRANSMISSION NO MODIFICATIONS.

 

REAR ENDS- MUST USE STOCK REAR END FOR TRUCK GEAR CHANGES ARE ALLOWED

 

DRIVE SHAFT- ALL DRIVE SHAFTS MUST BE OEM FOR TRUCK USED MUST REMAIN OEM LENGTH FOR YEAR MAKE AND MODEL USED. MUST BE PAINTED WHITE. MUST HAVE DRIVE SHAFT LOOPS LOCATED 6 “ FROM THE FRONT OF SHAFT AND 6” FROM REAR OF SHAFT TO PREVENT DRIVE SHAFT EJECTION DURING RACE.

 

BRAKES-  MUST BE OEM BRAKE SYSTEM FOR THAT TRUCK. NO DISC BRAKE CONVERTIONS. NO ADJUSTIBLE BRAKE BIAS ALLOWED , IN OR OUTSIDE OF COCKPIT.

 

SUSPENSION- ALL SPRINGS , AND BUSHINGS AND LOCATING DEVICES MUST REMAIN STOCK OEM AND IN STOCK OEM LOCATIONS. MAY USE AFTERMARKET SHOCK STEEL BODIED AVALIBLE AT PARTS STORE NO AFTERMARKET RACE SHOCKS PERMITTED.

 

A.- FRONT END- FRONT CAMBER MAY BE ADJUSTED BY SLOTTING OF STRUT TOWERS , ADDING SHIMS. FORD RANGERS “ I BEAM ONLY ” MAY USE AFTERMARKET FRONT ARMS TO ACHIVE THIS , IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO CUT FACTORY FRONT ARMS ON FORD RANGERS THEY ARE CAST IRON AND DO NOT CUT.

 

B.- REAR END- REAR AXLE MAY BE MOVED TO TOP OF SPRINGS , THE USE OF BLOCKS OR SPRING HANGERS IS PERMITTED. OPEN GEAR RULE IN EFFECT.

 

STEERING- STEERING COLUMN MAY BE USED OR MAY BE REPLACED WITH STEERING SHAFT. MUST HAVE A SLIP JOINT IF REPLACEING STEERING COLUMN. THE USE OF A QUICK DISCONNECT STEERING WHEEL IS PERMITTED.

 

WHEEL BASE- ALL TRUCKS MUST MAINTAIN WHEELBASE AS MANUFACTURED

 

TIRES AND WHEELS- ALL FOUR TIRES MUST BE OF THE SAME SIZE , BE DOT LEGAL , AND HAVE TREAD WEAR RATING OF AT LEAST 260. TIRES ELLIGIBLE 195 , 205 , 215 , 60 OR 65 SERIES IN A 14” OR 15”. MUST BE ALL 14” ON TRUCK OR ALL 15” RIMS USED ON TRUCK AT SAME TIME. ALL TIRES MUST HAVE A MEASURABLE TREAD DEPTH OF AT LEAST 1/16”AT THE LOWEST POINT.  WHEELS MAY HAVE A MAXIMUM WIDTH OF 8” AND HAVE THE SAME OFFSET ON ALL FOUR WHEELS .  MUST USE  1” LUG NUTS ON ALL FOUR WHEELS ON ALL WHEEL STUDS.

 

FIRE EXTINGUISHER- ALL TRUCKS  MUST HAVE AN ON-BOARD FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN REACH OF THE DRIVER. MAY ALSO USE FIRE-SUPPRESSION SYSTEM FOR ADDITIONAL SECURITY.

 

 

INTERIOR- ALL INTERIOR MUST BE REMOVED UPHOLSTERY AND CARPETING. MAY USE OEM DASH OR REPLACE WITH AFTERMARKET DASH BOARD. 

 

 

DRIVERS SEAT- AN ALUMINUM HIGH-BACKED RACING SEAT IS MANDATORY. IT MUST BE SECURLY MOUNTED TO FRAME OR ROLL CAGE IN AT LEAST SIX POINTS (FOUR AT BOTTOM AND TWO AT BACK). A PADDED RIGHT-SIDE HEADREST IS MANDATORY.  MUST USE A SFI APPROVED MINIMUM 5 POINT RACEING HARNESS PROPERLY MOUNTED TO ROLL CAGE. BELTS MUST BE OF 3” DESIGN AND HAVE QUICK RELEASE LATCH. MUST BE WITH IN 5 YEARS OF INSPECTION DATE TO USE.

 

 

WINDOW SAFTEY NET- ALL TRUCKS  MUST HAVE AN APPROVED SFI  NET PROPERLY INSTALLED IN DRIVERS WINDOW AREA.

 

DRIVER ATTIRE- FULL BODY FIRE RETARDANT SUIT IS MANDATORY. MUST BE ONE OR TWO PIECE  RACE SUIT. APPROVED RACE SHOES OR STEEL TOE LEATHER WORK SHOES ARE ALLOWED NO SNEAKERS. MUST USE FIRE RETARDANT GLOVES. MUST HAVE A FULL RACE HELMENT THAT MEETS AT LEAST SA-2000 RATING WITH NO SIGNA OD PREVIOUS DAMAGE. NO OPEN FACE HELMENTS.  NECK COLLARS AND OR HANS DEVICE IS RECOMMENDED FOR YOUR SAFETY

 

WINDSHEILD & REAR WINDOWS- WINDSHEILD  MUST BE  EITHER OEM GLASS , LEXAN , OR WIRE MESH WITH AT LEAST TWO SAFTEY STRAPS IN CENTER. MAY RUN REAR WINDOW.

 

BUMPERS- ALL TRUCKS MUST HAVE STOCK APPEARING FRONT AND REAR MAY USE AFTERMARKET NOSE PIECE OR REAR TAIL PIECE OF PLASTIC MATERIAL NO FIBERGLASS
